The water of life and the fountain of youth
Water with reduced deuterium content is called the "water of life". The ethnic groups living in Abkhazia and Yakutia are very long-lived and retain their stamina and vitality for the rest of their lives. The ethnic groups showed significant differences in the type of food they eat, but the only common factor found when examining the lives of the two groups was that they both consume water from glacial melt.
Further study of the properties of glacier water has also revealed another very significant difference between glacier water and other surface waters, namely that glacier water has a lower natural deuterium content. It has been shown that surface waters have an average concentration of 150 parts per million (ppm) of deuterium-containing water molecules, whereas glacial water contains 25% less deuterium.
Subsequent research has demonstrated a significantly measurable and positive effect of low deuterium water on biological organisms.
They are:
- experiments on plants showed an overall increase in productivity of 56% for wheat and 250% for cucumbers and radishes,
- in studies with chickens, the number of eggs doubled,
- life expectancy doubled in mice,
- clinical trials in humans have also shown positive results in the treatment of diabetes and some cancers (work of Dr Gábor Somlyai and colleagues)
A very interesting study on the anti-ageing effects of deuterium-reduced water is the one by Kirk Goodal, a member of the team managing NASA's Mars Pathfinder programme, published in 2003, entitled "The Search for Youth" and entitled "The role of deuterium in DNA degradation":
Its aim was to find ways to humanise the exploration of Mars, because one of the biggest problems that needs to be solved is the high levels of cosmic radiation that astronauts are exposed to on their way to and from Mars. This radiation causes free radicals to form in the human body, which lead to a very rapid increase in DNA defects during cell division, resulting in ageing, disease and death.
The author summarises studies showing a strong correlation between the life expectancy of the human body and the function of cellular DNA. As a result, Goodal links the ageing of the body to irreversible DNA errors in cell division processes, whereby the accumulation of errors beyond a certain limit makes DNA dysfunctional.
Goodal concludes that the concentration of deuterium in the cell is directly related to the potential for errors in DNA sequences, i.e. the lower the concentration of deuterium, the lower the incidence of irreversible errors in DNA structure.
One of the conclusions of the study is that by consuming food prepared from raw materials grown using low deuterium water and low deuterium water, the human body's capacity to withstand specific living conditions can be successfully increased.
The mechanism that controls the biological effects, i.e. whether it is the increase in deuterium levels in the water in the cells itself that causes the body to age, or vice versa, whether it is the reduced deuterium in the water that produces some biological effect, or whether both are true, remains to be seen.
It is hypothesized that the biological effect of reduced deuterium in water may be directly related to the human body's interactions at the atomic level, enzymatic interactions within cells, or it may simply be replacing harmful deuterium couplings at the cellular level with hydrogen bonds and causing the inhibition of biochemical signalling required for cell division in damaged cells. Thus, it is telling that a deuterium-reduced environment is much better suited to the functional requirements of living cells.
The fact is that reduced deuterium in water inhibits the proliferation of cells damaged at the DNA level.
What is deuterium?
Hydrogen has an atomic number of 1, which means it contains 1 proton. Deuterium is a naturally stable isotope of H with an atomic mass of 2, which is 1 proton and 1 neutron. In nature, the natural abundance of this isotope is 1 : 5000, i.e. 1 part deuterium to 5000 parts hydrogen.
Conventional water is produced by combining 2 hydrogen atoms with 1 oxygen atom (H2O), but when deuterium combines with oxygen, the result is a compound known as heavy water (D2O), which is most commonly used in nuclear power plants to moderate fission reactions. Heavy water can be said to be a radical free radical that is harmful to the human body.
What is reduced deuterium drinking water?
Water with reduced deuterium content is also called "water of life" or "light water". It is water in which the concentration of the deuterium isotope (D) of the hydrogen atom is lower than in normal water.
The concentration of deuterium in an average drinking water in Hungary is also 143-150 ppm and the concentration of deuterium in our water is proportional to the average in our geographical area.
The production of deuterium-reduced water is a complex technological process in which most of the deuterium is extracted from natural water, purified and enriched with minerals to produce a soft, soft, non-carbonated drinking water with a pleasant taste and optimal composition.
Reduced deuterium water has now been shown in clinical trials around the world to be beneficial in the treatment of cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, allergies, kidney disease and anti-ageing. In Hungary, studies are being conducted under the leadership of Dr Gábor Somlyai with excellent results.
The main benefits of deuterium-reduced water for cosmetics, hygiene, beauty and personal care are:
- They are suitable for the treatment and prevention of a wide spectrum of skin diseases through the general mechanism underlying their action.
- They can be used to stop the division of abnormal cells by treating the skin surface locally, by interfering with the regulatory mechanism of abnormal cells, thus enabling the body to eliminate potentially damaged cells.
- They make it possible to prevent cancer by creating conditions that are unfavourable to the growth of tumour cells.
- They have no side effects.
- The manufacturing processes do not generate waste that is hazardous to the environment.
